Types Of Goldendoodles

American Goldendoodles

white, large goldendoodle adult dog

American Goldendoodles are a cross between a Golden Retriever that has American bloodlines (their conformation type conforms to AKC breed standards) X Poodle, an American Goldendoodle X Poodle, or an American Goldendoodle X American Goldendoodle, which is what Okefeild Acres began their breeding program with in 2006. This is the original Goldendoodle that most people in the United States know of today.

English Teddybear Goldendoodles

English Teddybear Goldendoodles are a cross between an English Cream Golden Retriever (their conformation type conforms to European breed standards) X Poodle, an English Teddybear Goldendoodle X Poodle, or an English Teddybear Goldendoodle X English Teddybear Goldendoodle, all of which we now specialize in. As an improvement to the American type Goldendoodle, English type Teddybear Goldendoodles typically have more full coats, a more broad head with shorter muzzle, heavier bone structure, better overall health and provides the opportunity to produce ultra cream coats. All of our current Teddybear Goldendoodle bloodlines go back to European English Cream Golden Retrievers that have been imported from Europe for that “Teddybear” Goldendoodle look.

English Cream Golden Retrievers

English Cream Golden Retrievers come from European bloodlines and conform to European Breed standards. As such, they can be registered AKC but because their breed standard is different from American breed standards they typically do not compete in the AKC show ring. IABCA is a well known registry and show venue that holds breed competition shows in the United States and use American and European judges to score each dog against their breed standard. All of our current English Teddybear Goldendoodle bloodlines go back to European English Cream Golden Retrievers that have been imported from Europe.
