Thank you for visiting our website and considering making one of our puppies your new family member! Below is the process that our clients walk through as they prepare to welcome a new Mini, Medium or Standard English Teddybear Goldendoodle puppy to their home. We are here to answer your questions and hope that this outline is of help before making the decision to apply for an available puppy or to join our reserve list.

  • If you are applying for a particular available puppy or an available choice from a particular color/gender group of puppies, mark that on the appropriate section of the application.

One of our team members will contact you to answer your questions before moving forward with reserving or adopting.

  • If you are applying for a future puppy, mark that on the appropriate section on the application.

One of our team members will contact you to discuss upcoming planned litters and possible take home dates.

  • After reading about Goldendoodle types, color and generations, our included socialization and training outline, what’s included in your puppy starter kit and after reading over our health warranty, talk with your family to see if you are ready to move forward with starting the reservation process.

If you feel that you are ready, begin by filling in our application to let us know what type of puppy that you are looking for. We will take into consideration size, color, energy, special purpose (therapy, service, diabetic alert, seizure alert, special needs companion) and the needs of your family.

This information is also an educational process to help you learn more about what is involved in caring for your new English Teddybear Goldendoodle puppy.

Once we receive your application, one of our team members will contact you to discuss available puppies, upcoming planned litters and possible take home dates.

We look forward to meeting you!

  • If you have applied and desire to move forward, request your Paypal invoice to place the $250 application deposit to add your name to our reserve list or request for the $500 full deposit invoice to reserve an available puppy.

Deposit amounts apply towards the price of your puppy. As agreed to on the application, deposits are transferable to another puppy but are not refundable.

After receipt of payment, we will confirm receipt, documents will be emailed to you to help you prepare for your new puppy and your puppy choice and pickup/delivery appointments will be scheduled.

  • As agreed to on the application, deposits are transferable to another puppy but are not refundable.

  • One of the things that Okefeild Acres is well known for is providing weekly updates so that everyone can watch each litter as they grow.

Pictures, videos and descriptions of what the puppies are learning will be added each Friday to give families the opportunity to enjoy the growth process. This also gives clients a clear understanding on how to proceed with training once their new puppy comes home.

  • If you are applying for choice out of a particular color/gender group, from a particular litter, your name will be listed in order of puppy choice. For example, if your name is listed as second choice out of four puppies, you would be the second person to visit and choose from the remaining three puppies, and so on for those below you on that list.

  • At the six week litter update, the day before puppy choice, individual pictures and temperament test results will be added to the website. The following day, a pre-scheduled visit will be provided for families to experience one on one interaction with the puppy(s) that they are considering.

  • Puppy choice day is always an exciting time for new puppy parents! Visits, either in person or through Facetime call, will be scheduled for the six week timeframe so that families can experience one on one interaction with the puppy(s) that they are considering.

Plan on arriving right at your scheduled time to allow other clients their allotted hour to make their final choice and finalize adoption details.

If you have scheduled a Facetime call, Lauren will call at the time scheduled, we are in the Central Time Zone and will call according to that.

The puppy or available puppies in your group that you have reserved from will be ready for you to visit with and consider.

Make sure to bring your list of questions then a thorough discussion of correct temperament match and answering these questions of concern will give you the confidence of knowing that you are making the best choice possible.

For the protection of our not fully vaccinated puppies, we ask that you not visit a kennel or shelter before arriving and that if you have had a puppy with parvo living on your current property, that you refrain from visiting. We understand that personal interaction is important, if possible, but we do have the responsibility to protect the puppies that are under our care.

  • Is your puppy the right fit? Great! Last details will be discussed, pickup or delivery day and time confirmed then final payment will be due that day. A Paypal invoice will have been emailed to you or you have the option of paying the balance in cash when you visit in person.

Please refer to your application for a reminder of the terms that were agreed to regarding accepted payment methods, etc.

  • As agreed to on the application, final payment is due at six weeks of age, when final puppy choice is made. A Paypal invoice will have been e-mailed prior to your visit or the balance can be paid in cash if you visit in person.

  • Very seldom has a puppy not met what a family is looking for, but, if that turns out to be the case, your name will be added back to the bottom of the reserve list and the process will start again. We want to make sure that you are confident in your decision and that your new puppy is just what you were looking for.

  • Final instructions and a copy of your puppy’s health chart will be emailed to you so that you can schedule your puppy’s vet appointments, according to the dates required.

Expect an invitation e-mail for a wholesale account to order your puppy’s Life’s Abundance All Life Stages food and treats. Order small bags at first to ensure that food is eaten in a timely manner.

Important and final crate training and socialization/training will be continued and reinforced, as outlined on our Socialization page, in preparation for the smoothest transition possible!

  • Your puppy will go in for his/her final vet check at seven weeks. The litter will have a fecal exam, physical body exam then spay or neuter surgery will be performed.

Occasionally moms pull too hard on the umbilical cord while delivering, causing a small hernia. This will also be taken care of at the same time and is no cause for concern in regards to future health.

Medicine the day of surgery and the day after will be administered for comfort and the puppies recover quickly and are up playing, eating and drinking the following day.

An update of puppy’s recovery will be sent to each family then stitches will be removed within 5 - 7 days.

No special care will be needed at homegoing except to avoid putting pressure on the surgery site as it will be tender to the touch.

  • For those picking up their puppy, a text or email reminder will be sent confirming the day and time. Please arrive right at your scheduled time as we usually have other clients arriving at their scheduled times as well.

After introducing your new puppy to you, a team member will go over all of your puppy’s documents (vet check, vaccination chart, etc) then discuss what to expect that evening. A short description covering what your puppy has learned and the commands used will be included in your puppy’s paperwork and will help them to understand what is being asked of them and make the transition into your home easier.

Helpful training videos are also located on a dropdown menu on our website, these are the methods that have been started with your puppy and are a good reminder if you have a quick training question that needs answered.

Typically we recommend using a crate for transporting your new puppy, we use rubber backed bath matts so that it doesn’t slide around while traveling and helps puppy feel secure. Baby wipes, paper towels and a bag for trash usually isn’t needed but is helpful to have on hand.

A collapsible bowl will be provided in case you need to give your puppy a drink during traveling. We do not recommend feeding unless you will be staying overnight somewhere then puppy can be fed in the evening.

Your puppy will not be fully vaccinated until a week after their 12 week 5 way Parvo combo. Try to stop at exits with nothing there but an empty field for your puppy to potty in, for their protection against picking up Parvo.

As always, we encourage everyone to stay in touch, we are here to answer questions and help you as your new puppy settles in with you.

  • If your puppy is being received by ground delivery, a team member will send a text reminder confirming the day and time then will stay in contact with you throughout the day of travel.

Expect a text, the day before delivery, confirming the flight, then the team member escorting your puppy will stay in touch throughout the travel process. Typically we meet at the departures ticket counter of your airport, that will be confirmed the day of the flight.
