Our Visitation Process
We’re so glad you’re considering an Okefeild Acres Teddybear Goldendoodle! We understand how important it is for families to feel confident and connected when choosing a new puppy. While many breeders no longer allow visits to their home, we’ve thoughtfully designed a process that balances the desire for in-person interaction with the safety and well-being of our puppies and family.
Unfortunately, not every visitor has good intentions. For the protection of our home, our animals, and our clients, we’ve implemented safety measures based on real experiences, including threats from theft, exposure to illness, and individuals with harmful agendas. Thankfully, the vast majority of families who reach out to us are genuine and respectful—and we’ve found that those sincerely interested in adoption fully understand and appreciate our process.
For Puppies Under Six Weeks Of Age
Due to their developing immune systems, puppies younger than six weeks are not available for in-person visits. Families who have submitted an application and placed a $500 deposit will be invited to meet and choose their puppy in person between six and seven weeks of age—once they’ve received their first Parvo vaccination.
For Available Puppies Ready To Go Home
If you’re interested in a currently available puppy, please begin by submitting an application so we can get to know you better. After approval, we’ll schedule a FaceTime call to introduce you to the puppy and to answer any questions.
If you’d like to move forward, a $500 deposit will be invoiced via PayPal. This deposit is applied toward your puppy’s total price and is required prior to scheduling your visit. It covers the time we take to prepare your puppy and ensures you’re seriously committed to adoption.
Visits are available Monday–Friday and occasionally on Saturdays, between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. We do not schedule visits on Sundays.
Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to another available puppy of your choice. We kindly ask that you respect our visitation policy, just as we go above and beyond to accommodate yours. Our goal is always a positive and secure experience for everyone—puppies and people alike.
